This growth is attributed to the service philosophy Magnus had and
that continues at Bridgeport National Bindery today. Bridgeport's motto,
"Bound to Last" emphasizes quality and a long term commitment to customers.
It looks to the future without forgetting the past.
In 1974 Bridgeport Bindery merged with
National Bindery to become Bridgeport National Bindery, and moved operations
to West Springfield Massachusetts. Growth continued at a steady pace and
continued to move to larger facilities.
In 1999, Bridgeport moved into a new 55,000 sq. ft. building on Silver
Street in Agawam Massachusetts. The new facility was more than twice the
size of the previous plant. However, in only eight years, Bridgeport
National Bindery, again had outgrown their building and added a 15,000 sq.
ft. addition to the plant. 
Most of the current growth has come from Bridgeport National Bindery's
expansion in the print on demand business.
Bridgeport National Bindery's growth is also the result of expanding our
geographical market area. Bridgeport National Bindery places increased
emphasis on the national part of their name with customers on both coasts
and in the Midwest. Bridgeport National Bindery has returned competition to
the binding market where, in recent years, many libraries have found
themselves with little or no choice.
As Bridgeport National Bindery grows it works hard to maintain the high
standards of quality that customers have come to expect. Such a
long-standing reputation for quality can be hard to live up to, but it is a
challenge the company relishes.

THE HISTORY OF BNB...
In 2007 Bridgeport adds a 15,000
square foot addition to the 662 Silver Street building. The picture about

The original Bridgeport Bindery

Bridgeport National Bindery began as two separate binding
companies founded in the late 1800's, Bridgeport Bindery, Inc. and National
Library Bindery, Inc. These companies merged in 1974.
The present company began when Magnus Larsen, father of present owner
James M. Larsen, was employed at Scribner's Publishing during the
depression. Mr. Larsen worked a full day and then took bookbinding classes
at the YWCA. In 1942 he joined the army to fight in World War II.
In 1947 Magnus purchased Bridgeport Bindery. It began as a small
bindery, but within seven years he had doubled the business.
